A Forester harvesting a tree beside the village, with an axe in hand
Out in the grove Actual gameplay · earlier development build

Meet your Forester.

Give him a patch of ground.
He’ll put down roots.

The Forester, at workFilm · 00:56

Earlier development gameplay in a managed grove; outfits and setup have since changed. Edited for pace. Music: “Legionnaire” by Scott Buckley. Transcript.

A grove that keeps growing.

  • Choose the grove. Two posts mark his work area without flattening your ground.
  • Bring the timber home. He plants saplings and harvests suitable grown trees, including eligible natural trees.
  • Grow the next harvest. He replants and recovers temporary ladders and supports after the job.

Trees need light, space and growth time. Your Forester needs supplies and safe access.

Set up your Forester

Put a crew
on the job.

A foreman, miners and haulers turn your chosen site into a working quarry. Trade them the supplies they need and buy from the haul they bring home.

The Miner & his crewFilm · 01:24

Earlier development checkpoint montage: real saved depths separated by time gaps, rather than one uninterrupted run. Outfits and setup have since changed. Music: “Titan” by Scott Buckley. Transcript.

Follow the descent

Select a depth to jump into the film.

  • Mark the dig. Two posts choose the quarry, from 7×7 to 25×25 blocks inside.
  • Fence it first. With materials on hand, the crew builds a fence and gate before digging.
  • Bring the haul home. Workers cut through the layers and carry resources back to stock.
Set up your mining crew

Real goods. Real trades.

Buy the wood, stone and goods your villagers gather and make. Sell the tools, saplings and materials they need. Their purchases use their business’s actual emeralds.

Villagers can buy from one another, too—a miner can visit a stocked toolsmith for a replacement pickaxe, then carry it home.

Workbench stock is view only. Purchases need goods, funds, storage and safe access.
